Water Baptism
The four Gospels in the Word of God record the baptism of Jesus, the Son of God, by John the Baptist. In general terms, baptism means complete immersion. In a Christian spiritual context, however, water baptism symbolizes a sinner's initiation into the righteousness of Christ—dying to sin and rising to a new life. It is a powerful act of obedience and an outward expression of faith to the world. While baptism itself does not save, it serves as a response to the salvation granted by the power and spirit of God.
